Mya-Lecia Naylor tragically died at the age of 16 on April 7, it was announced on Wednesday. The CBBC star is best known for her roles in Millie Inbetween and Almost Never.

Her heartbroken father is said to have told his neighbour that he’d "lost his baby" after Mya-Lecia reportedly collapsed and died, MailOnline reports.

Speaking to the publication, Nana Boateng, a neighbour of Mya-Lecia’s father Martin Naylor, said: "He told me that Mya had collapsed. He was about to break down when he added: "We’ve lost our baby."

"I feel so sorry for them. She was such a young, happy and beautiful girl with everything to live for. My wife is so upset she can’t stop talking about it."

According to the BBC, who announced Mya’s tragic death on the CBBC website, the much-loved actress passed away earlier this month after collapsing.

Her representatives A&J Management announced the devastating news on Twitter.

They wrote: "It is with the deepest sorrow we have to announce that on Sunday 7th April Mya-Lecia Naylor, very sadly, died.

"Mya-Lecia was hugely talented and a big part of A&J, we will miss her greatly. Our love and thoughts are with all her family and friends at this difficult time."

CBBC also confirmed the death of the young star, writing: "We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from 'Millie Inbetween' and 'Almost Never' has, very sadly, died.
