Coronation Street cast Ryan Prescott as Ryan Connor: Four things you need to know about the actor and why you’ll definitely recognise him

Previously starring on Emmerdale, Ryan Prescott has been hired by Coronation Street to take over the role of Ryan Connor – the son of Kym Marsh’s character Michelle Connor.

Ryan will be a familiar face with soap fans, thanks to his previous role on Emmerdale and a number of other roles he's had on the small screen.

The actor’s character is set for a turbulent storyline, as Michelle Connor’s baby swap storyline is set to be revisited.

As he gets to work on his new role, here are four things you need to know about the Corrie newbie.

He’s no stranger to acting

Ryan has had his fair share of acting roles over the years, from starring in film Vampire Academy, to having minor roles on shows such as The Syndicate and Casualty.

He’s also had a regular role on Doctors for the past five years as Liam Slade.

However, soap fans may recognise him from Emmerdale, where he played Flynn Buchanan – Aaron Dingle’s love interest.
