Meghan Markle ‘snubs the Queen’s doctors’ for birth because she doesn’t want ‘men in suits’ delivering her baby

Meghan Markle is said to have snubbed the Queen’s medical team expected to have delivered her and Prince Harry’s first baby.

The former actress has reportedly appointed her own team, led by an unnamed female doctor, after insisting she “doesn't want men in suits” delivering her baby.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the Duchess has politely declined the offer of the royal family’s team of doctors, including royal gynaecologists Alan Farthing and Guy Thorpe-Beeston, who attended the arrival of all three of Kate Middleton’s children.

While there will be a role for them in some capacity, they will not be the leading physicians, according to the publication.

“Meghan said she doesn’t want the men in suits. She was adamant that she wanted her own people. It did leave a few of us baffled.”

Another added: “It is slightly surprising. These people [the Queen’s doctors] are the best of the best and when it comes down to it, their role would actually be very limited in the birth itself, assuming it all goes to plan.”

It is thought they will step in should something go wrong during the labour, though.

A source close to the Duchess insisted that the decision has not caused any offence to the royals.

“No one has thought anything of it because it really is ever so personal,” they said.

“Above all, this is her birth, her baby, and she must to whatever she feels right for her. Hoe could anyone judge her for that?”

Meghan has also apparently decided not to give birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, which has been used by several other royal mothers, including the Duchess of Cambridge.

It is believed that Meghan and Harry will instead choose a hospital closer to they new home in Windsor.
